CompreCare implements the CHAMPs program, which started in its present format on 1 August 2005. The CHAMPs program is in its fifth year of funding (October 2009 to September 2010).

Eleven sub-partners are engaged to assist with the implementation of prevention and child care programs. CompreCare has ensured that the sub-partners implement their plans according to the CHAMPs philosophy, strategy and principals and according to the requirements of donors.

CompreCare is responsible for overall project management, including strategic management, financial management, monitoring and evaluation of the CHAMPs program. CompreCare Office has put into place a systematic and coordinated management program to ensure that finances are well managed and objectives and targets are reached.

A sound financial management and monitoring and evaluation plan has been developed for each partner to ensure that all targets and requirements are met. A liaison structure for regular bi- and multilateral lateral contact among organisations is also in place to ensure that all participating partners work in a coordinated and focused manner.

CompreCare compiled a data quality management manual. The capacity of the sub-partners was subsequently built by training them in applying data quality principles.
